Cheatoceros calcitrans is one of two micro algaes that contain high fucoxanthin and gallic acid content with significant antioxidant activity.(Foo et al., 2017) science direct.com
Cheatoceros is a rich in PUFAs, EPA and DHA. This strain blooms heavy and provides excellent nutrition for pods, rotifers and corals. The presence of long, thin outgrowths (spines), aiming to reduce the sinking rate of a cell, is a distinctive morphological feature of representatives of this genus. Cell sized vary over a wide range of 2–3 µm up to 50 µm and even more. Spines, connecting the frustules of the cell, promote the formation of colonies, which may comprise up to several hundred cells and may reach a length of several millimeters. Some Chaetoceros species are well-established commercial aquacultures. Many of them are recognized as generally good producers of useful lipids and other biologically active products with high value-added. They have enormous potential for producing nutraceuticals and biofuel. (National Center for Biotechnology Information)

Tigriopus californicus

A little difficult... but very doable.
After two failed attempts to culture R. Salina, I had given up. After watching Skyler's video, I mustered up the courage to try again. He explained there is a difference between phyto for feeding and phyto for culturing. I followed his procedure, and 9 days later I harvested. 1.5 quarts. The extra steps I took to sanitize everything, and to sterilize the media made a big difference. Thank you, Skyler!!!

Great phyto and great service!
RL is my new go-to store for phyto. Skyler was extremely helpful by answering all of my questions quickly and concisely. I sent him pictures of my first harvest of T-iso, which was golden brown. He told me it would get darker, and he was absolutely correct. His video of how he cultures Rhodomonas Salina has given me the courage to try it again after two failed attempts. Pic of first T-iso harvest after 10 days, and of the 2nd harvest after 7 days.
Tisochrysis lutea (T-iso)

Clean and healthy T-iso starter culture!
The bottle of Tisochrysis lutea arrived quickly, and in great condition. I started the culture within an hour, and 10 days later I harvested a quart of beautiful Tahitian gold! It's a wonderful addition to my Tet and Nanno harvests that I'm feeding to my copepod cultures and tanks. Any questions I had were quickly answered, and all is going as planned. I'm a happy camper!!!

Great product!
I received Rhodomonas Salina and isochrysis galbana phytoplankton as well as tibse and apocyclopse copepods and they are doing great! I have already harvested 6g of nice dark phyto and the pods love it. The pod cultures were swarming with nauplii and have since grown exponentially. My tanks are very happy with the added diversity. Highly recommend Reef Legends! Customer service was great too.
