Received my order very fast and was packaged. Nice nicely.
Love the rhodo culture. Two very dark harvests so far. Pods and rotifers love it. NPS and sponges seem to be responding well too.
Phyto, Rotifer, Pods & Brine ship Monday-Wednesday each week.

New Thalasiosira strain acquired June 26 2025. Our hobbyist grade is finally gone.
Thalassiosira weissflogii is a large diatom phytoplankton. This species can tolerate a wide variety of salinities from brackish to saltwater, we grow ours at 1.022 specific gravity. Thalassiosira weissflogii is used for raising shrimp commercially, most sites claim this is the best algae for rearing shrimp and our copepod cultures seem to love this strain as we never find many cells after 24 hours from feeding. This strain can reproduce asexually and sexually.
Thalassiosira weissflogii is known for HUFAs, EPA and DHA fatty acids. If you're raising copepods this strain should be in your arsenal of phytoplankton cultures.
We recommend using Florida Aqua Farms modified F/2 fertilizer on this strain with water glass or silicate water. We dose 5ml of FAF F/2 and 2ml of our silicate water per gallon of water volume.
Just wanted to say thanks for all the help and support getting my first culture started! Great customer service and support! I probably would have failed several times starting out on my own.
I’ll definitely be a customer for a long time.
This culture has been really fun! Dosing silicate water was very interesting, the precipitation was intense, I’d never used it before. Thalassiosira weissfloggii is really easy to grow and most importantly, my pods and brine LOVE IT. My pods get extremely active when I feed, it’s really cool seeing copepods get excited. I tried growing t-iso and had a contamination issue on my end, so wanted a less finicky species that still has all the good fats and this seems to fit my needs perfectly! I’ve already split my culture once and it’s bubbling along happily turning a nice golden brown.

Reef Legends is the real deal. Not sure where to start, honestly. Deep knowledge, high-quality cultures, and real support when it comes to phytoplankton. The guidance and consultations alone were worth it. Huge thanks for the quality and the help 👍
Magnificent phytoplankton, super green, and all the pods arrived alive.Thank you for the candies.

2nd time ordering from these guys and every batch have been great! The price, packaging and speed of delivery will not disappoint
After two failed attempts to culture R. Salina, I had given up. After watching Skyler's video, I mustered up the courage to try again. He explained there is a difference between phyto for feeding and phyto for culturing. I followed his procedure, and 9 days later I harvested. 1.5 quarts. The extra steps I took to sanitize everything, and to sterilize the media made a big difference. Thank you, Skyler!!!
